KoTools (the "Operator") complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other relevant laws and regulations, and places great importance on the protection of User personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Operator collects, how it is used, and how it is protected when the User uses the KoTools website (the "Service").
Article 1 (Personal Information Items Collected and Collection Methods)
1. Information automatically collected when using the Service
When the User accesses the Service, the following information may be automatically collected.
- IP address, browser type and version, operating system information
- Access date and time, access path, service usage records
- Device information (screen resolution, device identifier, etc.)
2. Information directly entered by the User
KoTools does not require membership registration, and data entered by the User in calculators, converters, etc. is原则上 processed only within the User's browser and is not transmitted to the Operator's server. However, minimal data may pass through the server when using certain features (e.g., sharing results via URL, settings synchronization).
3. Information collected through cookies and similar technologies

Article 2 (Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information)
The Operator uses the collected personal information for the following purposes.
- Service provision and operation: Performing functions requested by the User, such as calculations, conversions, and generation
- Service improvement: Enhancing service quality through analysis of User access patterns and usage statistics
- Security and prevention of fraudulent use: Detecting and responding to abnormal access, hacking attempts, and service abuse
- Advertising: Providing advertisements through third-party advertising networks
- Legal obligation compliance: Fulfilling obligations under relevant laws and responding to disputes
Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)
1. The Operator原则上 destroys the User's personal information without delay after the purpose of collection has been achieved. However, in the following cases, the information may be retained for the specified period.
- Service access logs: 3 months (mandatory retention period under the Communications Secrets Protection Act of the Republic of Korea)
- Fraudulent use records: 1 year (for the purpose of preventing fraudulent use)
- Where there is a mandatory retention period under relevant laws: the period specified by such law
2. Cookie and local storage data saved in the User's browser can be directly deleted by the User through browser settings, and the Operator does not store such data on a separate server.
Article 4 (Use of Cookies and Local Storage)
1. The Operator uses cookies and local storage to provide a better service experience to the User.
2. Purposes of use:
- Essential cookies/local storage: Storing information necessary for providing basic service functions such as site theme and language settings
- Advertising and analytics cookies: May be used for advertising personalization and performance measurement
3. The User may refuse or delete cookie storage through browser settings. However, refusal to store cookies may limit the use of some services.
Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
1. The Operator原则上 does not provide the User's personal information to external parties. However, the following cases are exceptions.
- When the User has given prior consent
- When required by law or upon request from an investigative agency in accordance with the procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigation purposes
2. The Operator may display advertisements in partnership with third-party advertising networks, and such networks may collect and process User information in accordance with their own cookie policies and privacy policies.
Article 6 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)
The Operator currently does not outsource personal information processing tasks to external companies. If outsourcing becomes necessary in the future, the Operator will announce the outsourcing recipient, content, and period in this Privacy Policy and go through a procedure to obtain the User's consent.
Article 7 (User Rights and How to Exercise Them)
1. The User may exercise the following rights at any time.
- Request to access personal information
- Request correction if there are errors
- Request deletion
- Request suspension of processing
2. The above rights may be exercised through written requests, telephone, email, etc. to the Operator, and the Operator will take action without delay.
3. KoTools does not require membership registration, so most personal information is stored on the browser side.
Article 8 (Security Measures for Personal Information)
The Operator takes the following measures to safely manage the User's personal information.
- Client-side processing of User input data:原则上 not transmitted to the server
- Minimal server log collection and security access control
The Operator takes the best possible security measures technically, but does not bear absolute responsibility for personal information leakage due to hacking, viruses, system errors, etc.
Article 9 (Protection of Children's Personal Information)
The Operator places great importance on the protection of personal information of children under the age of 14. KoTools does not require membership registration, so原则上 does not collect children's personal information. If a child under the age of 14 uses the Service, personal information will not be collected without the consent of the legal guardian, and if such collection is discovered, it will be deleted without delay.

Article 11 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)
This Privacy Policy may be added, deleted, or modified according to changes in relevant laws or service policies. When revised, the revised content and effective date will be announced in advance, and if there are important changes, a separate consent procedure may be followed.
